Arkane Studios, the company behind the Dishonored series may have just leaked the month of release for their Playstation 5 timed-exclusive, Deathloop. Today it appears the release date has been changed on the Playstation Store to reflect a May 2021 release date.
This date falls in-line with the news we received back in summer regarding the game being pushed back into Q2 of 2021 due to COVID-19. We are stunned that this game remains a timed-exclusive to the Playstation 5 due to Microsoft’s acquisition of the games publisher, Bethesda, in recent months. This is likely due to Sony paying out big bucks for this exclusivity for a period of time and Microsoft allowing the company to honour their promise.
The game is still due to come to other platforms at a later-date however. No changes have been made to the games Steam page at this point so this new release window may in fact change and if it does, we will update this post accordingly.
Arkane Studios smashed it out of the park with their Dishonored series and I am really excited to see what this game brings. The unique gameplay of Dishonoured leaves a lot to live up to. I won’t be playing the game if it releases in May however, due to having no plans to purchase a Playstation 5 until I have owned and sold an Xbox Series X.
Will you be playing Deathloop if it hopefully releases in May?
